  • 11/2009: I've had so much fun playing with Django and IPhone SDK.

  • 10/2009: Unfortunately, Google is shutting down its Google Page service and forcing users to migrate to its Site service, which is awfully hard to use without CSS. My poor little homepage has to move once again. Man, I hate that!

  • 09/2009: We are No.1! In the world-renowned PASCAL visual object recognition challenge, our video analysis team outperforms other 32 teams from all over the world and we won 18 categories (out of 20 categories). Our average score is 4% higher than the runner-up's. The result is here. The detail of the challenge is here. Photo at PASCAL workshop (with Yihong Gong and Kai Yu. Other members did not attend the workshop.)

  • 09/2009: One oral and one poster paper got accepted by ICCV. Not too bad for 2009

  • 03/2009: Received NEC Lab's Seeds Award (with Kai Yu and Jinjun Wang). photo 1, 2

  • 11/2008: Received Permanent Resident card under the outstanding researcher (EB-1) category

  • 06/2008: Received NEC Lab's FY2007 Technology Commercialization Award (with Yihong Gong and Wei Xu) in recognition of key contributions to the commercialization of human tracking and counting algorithm. The technology is incorporated into two NEC products: FieldAnalyst and Kaoato Surveillance Software by NEC Soft Ltd. (NES). photo

  • 03/2008: Received Certificate of Appreciation (with Yihong Gong and Wei Xu) from NES President Norihiko Kunishima for research contribution to NES's FieldAnalyst product. photo
